Lucien Hoffmann, born in Cornwall, England in 1991, is an artist renowned for his powerful and emotionally resonant textural landscapes.
His paintings do more than simply depict a landscape; they attempt to recreate its physical essence and inner soul. He innovatively mixes natural materials such as sand, plaster, and plant fibers with oil paints, using tools like palette knives and scrapers to create near-sculptural works on the canvas. The final result is no longer an "image" of the landscape, but rather a slice of the landscape itself—thick, rough, and full of the marks left by storms, rain, and time.
